Ace Web Editor

From an idea
to an editable website.

Ace Web Editor brings the page, its structure, and its styling into one workspace. Build with reusable sections, refine individual elements, and export a site that can run independently.

The project explores a practical question: how much control can a visual builder give you without hiding the website underneath?

Private repository. Demo mode stores edits in your browser; accounts and payments are simulated.

The app, at a glance

Small details.
More control.

Built around the complete editing loop:
create, refine, recover, and ship.

01 / STRUCTURE

The whole page is yours.

Edit pages, hidden sections, shared sidebars, and footers from one page navigator.

02 / PRECISION

Go beyond text and color.

Inspect layout, forms, media, SVGs, and accessibility properties. Align and distribute selections together.

03 / REUSE

Build once. Make it yours.

Combine reusable components, page sections, and CMS collections. Adapt the result for different screen sizes.

04 / RECOVERY

Keep a way back.

Use undo, saved page versions, and site backups. Recover a page while preserving the rest of the site.

05 / WORKFLOW

A workspace that grows.

Explore collaboration, comments, animation tools, and an optional AI assistant within the editor.

06 / OWNERSHIP

Take the website with you.

Export standalone HTML or a self-hosted Node.js site. Continue working with the files outside the builder.

02 / Under the surface

The right tools.
A clear purpose.

A lightweight browser foundation,
with services added where they help.

01

Browser & interface

  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • Browser APIs
02

State & persistence

  • Document model
  • CRDT
  • IndexedDB
  • localStorage
03

Build & quality

Repeatable checks from source to production.

  • Node.js
  • esbuild
  • TypeScript checks
  • Playwright
  • GitHub Actions
04

Optional services

Require configuration beyond the local demo.

  • Supabase / PostgreSQL
  • Stripe
  • Cloudflare
  • AI APIs

03 / Project progress

A project in motion.

Development snapshot

  1. ImplementedA complete visual workspace

Page navigation, reusable blocks, content collections, responsive styling, animation, and standalone site exports form the core editing workflow.

  2. ExpandedEditing beyond the canvas basics

Shared layouts and hidden pages are reachable. Forms, media, SVGs, and element properties have dedicated controls, alongside multi-selection arrangement and a style clipboard.

  3. Latest refinementHistory you can return to

Saved versions now persist when restored. Page copies can be recovered from site backups, and long backup names keep their restore controls visible in the History panel.

  4. Ongoing engineeringChecks that follow the user journey

Source and production browser checks cover editing, persistence, and export. Unit tests, schema checks, type checks, and bundle budgets support the development workflow.

04 / Résumé

People. Quality.
Practical tools.

IT support and manual testing experience, complemented by independent web, desktop, and Android projects. I bring a practical approach to troubleshooting, clear documentation, and collaboration.
